Another season starting for me at the Hungry Whale guest house in Nantucket. This will be the 12 year that I am running the house since my mom Ven Johnson passed it down to me.
At first it was all her people who were coming back to me and now finally I can say that most of the people who return are coming back to the house cause they were my guest.
This last year however I lost my mom in July and then this past March I lost my little Zackary who was my 5 pound Yorkie who has been with me for almost 19 years.
I've had some request already for reservations and although I have been encouraged to raise the prices of the rooms from $100 to $125 I may have to do so this year to cover the overwhelming high cost of the utilities that have tripled in the last two years...
